Always Ready Kit (2 People)
After an emergency you may need to survive on your own for days, weeks, or even longer. This requires meeting your own basic needs: clean water, food, first aid, shelter, etc. The Always Ready Emergency Kit provides high quality components that will make up the core of your family emergency kit:
- Pocket Survival Pak - A mini survival kit that really could save your life! It contains a collection of survival tools for making fire, navigating, signaling, emergency repairs, etc.
- Adventure First Aid 2.0 Kit - Contains a multitude of supplies to treat cuts and scrapes, sprains, headaches, muscle aches, allergic reactions and larger wounds. It organizes items by injury with Easy Care cards to help anyone quickly and confidently give first aid.
- Frontier Pro Filter - Instead of supplying a few tiny cartons of purified water that might be enough for a meal, our kit comes with a compact, lightweight, two-stage filter that will produce 50 gallons of clean water! This would be enough drinking water (at a gallon each per day) for two people for more than three weeks.
- Aquamira Water Purifier Tablets - Water is a key survival concern, so for good measure we have supplied purification tablets to give you added security when you suspect a water source is contaminated with microorganisms, as is often the case after floods, hurricanes, and other disasters. Aquamira Water Purifier Tablets, an EPA Registered Purifier, contain a patented chlorine dioxide formula that produces a powerful germicidal agent when released in water.
- 6 Datrex Food Rations - These individually packaged, tabletized emergency rations taste great and last for years. Each package contains 2,400 calories, a full day of energy for the average adult. Always Ready Emergency Kits come with six of these, which will supply three full days of calories for two adults or minimum sustenance for up to a week with proper rationing.
- Scorpion Radio - Solar or crank-powered, all-terrain, multi-function digital radio you can rely on for information when you absolutely need it. There are lots of emergency radios out there, but almost none as durable, compact or reliable as this one.
- Solar Water Proof Flashlight - A self-powered, durable and waterproof flashlight that can be charged with a crank or by the sun. No batteries means reliable light for the duration of the emergency.
- 2-Person Heatsheet Survival Blanket - This large, two-person survival blanket reflects up to 90% of radiated body heat, is easy to open and fold, is tear resistant, and made of a bright orange exterior that is easy for rescuers to spot.
- Clear Creek Backpack - Many emergency kits cut corners when it comes to
the pack. Not ours. Mountainsmith's Clear Creek pack is made from 600d
Poly body fabric and 210d RipStop liner and, among other things,
features an airmesh back panel with lumbar support, sternum strap safety
whistle, and internal hydration bladder sleeve (bladder not included).
Despite what some may tell you, there is no perfect kit, and every kit
should be further customized by its owner. This means adding
prescription medications, copies of important documents, extra cloths
and blankets (especially for areas that may experience especially cold
weather), and other items specific to the kit owner.
Also, in a major catastrophe or the dreaded "long emergency", it is likely that basic services such as electricity, gas, water, sewage treatment, and telephones may be cut off for a prolonged period. As a result, in addition to having a good 72-hour emergency kit, complete preparedness demands that survivors plan to do without basic services. Such preparations cannot be satisfied with any kit.
